ZETI was born from friendship, family and a shared passion for authentic Anatolian cuisine. Its name is more than just a word – it is a symbol of unity between two families and two worlds: ZE, for Zeliha, the daughter of one of the founders, and TI, for Timur, the son of the other.
Together, they form ZETI – a name that echoes ‘zeytin’, the Turkish word for olive, an ancient symbol of peace, longevity and abundance.
This very meaning lies at the heart of the restaurant’s philosophy: to bring people together, to nourish and to inspire.
ZETI is the continuation of the Anatolian Flavours project, created to bring the true taste of Turkey to Broadstairs. 
The restaurant was founded by two close friends and business partners: one from Gaziantep, a city filled with the aromas of sizzling kebabs, the crunch of baklava and the flavour of the world’s finest pistachios; the other from Diyarbakir, where recipes for rich spiced stews, fragrant soups and lovingly baked breads are passed down through generations.
Their friendship, formed far from home, became the solid foundation for a place where every recipe tells a story – of home, of childhood, of family gatherings, where tables overflow with food and hearts with warmth.
But ZETI’s unique character was shaped not only by culinary heritage. The founders’ wives brought a layer of Mediterranean elegance, lightness and refinement to the space and the dining experience. Their sense of style, love for airy interiors, natural textures, terracotta pots, olive branches and sun-soaked details helped create a welcoming atmosphere that invites guests to linger.
Their influence can be felt in every corner – from the colour palette to the presentation of each dish. They brought soul, softness and warmth in a way only women can.
We cook the way our grandmothers did: with patience, respect for ingredients and a genuine desire to please. We use only the finest produce – prime meats, the freshest vegetables and aromatic spices – so that every guest feels they’ve stepped not just into a restaurant, but into a warm Anatolian home.
